The Danish Ethical Council report, The Future of Prenatal Diagnosis, from 2009 contains a chapter with the title, ‘Councelling and self-determination’. The chapter is based upon the report ’Memorandum concerning new guidelines for prenatal diagnosis’ (2003), which was published by a group under the Danish National Board of Health. Welcome to CBN

Centre for Bioethics and Nanoethics (CBN) is an inter-disciplinary research centre which engages with research and communication concerning bioethical problems and issues.

Bioethics is concerned with ethical questions that relate to the development within e.g. medical science, biology and bio-technology.

CBN conducts and participates in national as well as international research projects focusing on ethical areas of concern in relation to e.g.:

  • Human enhancement through medical technology
  • Animal welfare in modern agriculture
  • Application of nano-technology
  • Priorities in health care
  • Genetic counselling
