Exam announcements

Registration for exams

Registration for all exams must be done online using Self-service. In addition, an examination form must be filled out for old curricula or the new curriculum, respectively, which must be printed and attached to the syllabus and possible appendices. They must be delivered in the mailbox of the Examination Office, room 127.

When registering for electives, the old curricula form must be used.

Procedure for oral examinations

All exam registration must be done using the students’ Self-service in the relevant exam period, i.e. 15 September - 1. October (winter exams) and 15 February – 1 March (summer exams). In addition, an examination form must be filled out and attached to the syllabus, if nothing else is stated, and delivered in the mailbox at the Examination Office, room 127.

  • Exam dates: The final dates for oral examinations, deregistration deadlines and deadlines for publication of exam results will be published on the homepage as soon as they are set. Examination time for the individual student will be made available after the deregistration deadline.

Procedure for written assignments

  • Front page form for written assignments . All written assignments must carry a front page form. The purpose of the form is to ensure that all relevant information is provided. In addition, the student must state, and with his/her signature confirm, the exact number of characters used (including spaces).
  • Exam dates : Final examination dates for written exams, deregistration deadlines and deadlines for publication of exam results will be published on the homepage as soon as they are set.
  • Announcement of exam questions

3-day home assignments in religionsfænomenologi (The Phenomenology of Religion) and religionssociologi (Sociology of Religion) following old curricula and 3-day home assignments in Israelitic Religion and Early Judaism and 5-day home assignment in the Sociology of Religion according to the 2005 curriculum: The exam question is announced on the exam question page at 10am on the first examination day. Do not forget to refresh or reopen your browser, if you have been logged in before this time. Alternatively, the exam question can be handed over at the Examinations Office, room 127, on the first examination day in the period 10 – 11am.

5-day home assignments in the subject  self-chosen religions (“frit valgte religioner”) and 10-day home assignments in a subject related to an original language (“originalsprogsorienteret emne”): The exam question is handed out at the Examinations Office, room 127, on the first day of the examination between 10am – 11am.

If you have questions related to your exam question, the Examinations Office may be contacted before 11am on the first day of the examination.

  • Deadline for submission of written home assignment is no later than 2 pm on the last examination day. The assignment is to be submitted in the following way:

The assignment is to be submitted by mail as attached document (Word or compatible) to the email address: emt@teo.au.dk. The system will return an automatic receipt. Computer breakdown, internet access problems, etc. is at the student’s own risk and a prolongation of the examination time or permission for a re-examination will not be granted. In addition, the same day, 3 paper copies must be sent to the Examinations Office for the Study of Religion, Faculty of Theology, University of Aarhus, Tåsingegade 3, 8000 Århus C, marked “Exam paper”.

One of the paper copies will be filed in the faculty archives. It must be copied on both sides and stapled in the upper left corner.

Alternatively, the assignment can be submitted in 3 copies at the Examinations Office, Building 443, room 127. One of the copies must be copied on bots sides and stapled in the upper left corner. Description of syllabus must be attached all three copies. 

  • Bachelor’s project

The Bachelor’s project must contain a summary written in a foreign language, just like the Master’s thesis. Until a review of the curriculum has taken effect, the following rules apply: A Bachelor’s project must contain a summary of 0.5-1.0 pages, written in English, German or French. The summary is not included in the maximum number of standard pages, but will be included in the overall assessment of the project. A Bachelor’s project not containing a summary does not comply with the exam regulations and will not pass.

The project title and the syllabus are agreed between student and teacher and must be signed by the teacher before the project is handed in. A front page form must be attached to the project. Remember to fill in the column stating number of characters, documenting that the project does not exceed the maximum number of pages (2,400 characters x 15 pages = 36,000 characters). The project must be submitted in 3 copies to the Examinations Office, not later that 1 June and 15 December, respectively, if the project is to be assessed in the exam term in question.

  • Exercise assignment (Form of examination A)

If you choose to end the exercise assignment with form of examination A, i.e. by active participation, including that you alone or as a part of a group contributes with a certain number of oral and written presentations and with a written home assignment, where the individual contribution must be between 7 and 10 pages, you must:

  • register for the group “Form of examination A” (Prøveform A) on Claroline
  • register for the examination on Self-service in the periods 1-12 October and 1 – 25 March, respectively.
  • get your teacher to approve your syllabus (700-750 pages) not later than 15 November / 1 May, respectively.
  • set the title in agreement with your teacher in due time before the submission deadline
  • submit the assignment on the Examinations Office not later that 15 January / 15 June, respectively.

Marking and assessment: Internal marking, Pass/failed.

Please note that if you withdraw for the examination or if you choose to take the exam in a later exam term, the syllabus must still be approved by the person who was your teacher in the term in question, and not later that 31 January (autumn term) and 30 June (spring term), respectively.

  • Exercise assignment (Form of examination B) and Assignment on a self-chosen subject

You may also choose to take the Exercise assignment as a written 20-page home assignment on a self-chosen subject (Form of examination B). The procedure follows the one for Self-chosen assignment. See below. 

Assignments on a self-chosen topic will not be registered in the student administrative system. Title and literature will be agreed and approved by your supervisor. Forms for assignments on a self-chosen subject can be downloaded and printed from the homepage or picked up at the Examinations Office. The Examinations Office prepares and forwards the standard front page to be filled out and handed along with the assignment. Assignments are forwarded for assessment on the 15 th of each month, except for July. Assessment takes place 5 weeks later. Also, we refer to the current curriculum.
