INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

27-29 January 2010 a major international conference took place at University of Aarhus, Denmark, Church and Mission in a Multireligious Third Millenium . The conference was the first major scholarly celebration of the centenary of Edinburgh 1910. With 30 invited speakers and 40 scholarly papers presented a firm basis was established for the continued discussion of the plight of Christianity. All in all 175 scholars came together to discuss the future of Christianity and the burning issues pertaining to the mission of the church.

Welcome to our website! The many contributions from the conference can hopefully be of inspiration to other events in the Edinburgh 2010 proces that will last the whole year.

Yours sincerely

Viggo Mortensen and the organizing committee

LISTENERS' REPORTS

Janine P. Morgan, United States: "I have compiled my two word clouds ( past & present ) that I worked from at the closing. They are the words/phrases that stood out to me."

Berge Traboulsi, Lebanon: "I came to Denmark with the belief that Christianity is declining in the Middle East. It seems that it is also declining in Europe." Read more

Charles Fensham, Canada: "To me it seems that as missiologists we need to seriously grapple with the first three chapters of the Hebrew Scriptures that describe our basic human vocation in terms of tending and caring for creation. We are to be in community with one another and creation. This theme deserves much greater emphasis." Read more
